It's no secret there are COUNTLESS products on the market that claim they help prevent stretch marks during pregnancy or they're the most moisturizing to your skin. Seriously it seems like every single brand has their own belly oil or cream or lotion, all with different prices ranges Trying to narrow down which one is the best is extremely overwhelming. I know I was overwhelmed with all the brands and creams and which one would work the best for me. Also the amount of product within the container, I'd run through it in no time. At 12 weeks I decided it was time for me to begin looking for the best moisturizer (even though I was still just bloated at that point, I wanted to get ahead of the game).
So which brand did I go with?? I went with a container of all natural pure vitamin E oil and a huge container of raw organic coconut oil, straight from my health foods store. That's right.....straight oil from the grocery store lol. The vitamin E oil lasted me 10 weeks. I would do 3 pumps in the morning and 3 at night. Once that was finished, I moved to the coconut oil. I do a glob in the morning and at night. I started the coconut oil at 22 weeks. I am currently 31 weeks and still have plenty to last me until the end of my pregnancy. The total price for both products was $45. Some products cost the same or more as that and won't last you a fraction of your pregnancy. Also, by using these products, you know exactly what's in them. No chemicals or additives, just straight oil. (exact brands I used/am using to the left <-----)
I would say the Vitamin E oil and Coconut oil 100% prevented me from getting stretch marks, thus far, in the places I use it. Like I mentioned above I religiously every single day, twice a day, used it on my belly, love handles, and boobs. I DID NOT USE IT ON MY INNER THIGHS AND GUESS WHAT I GOT STRETCH MARKS. Granted they are a few little lines of stretch marks on my upper inner thigh so unless you're my husband up in my business, you won't see them. Since I discovered them a few weeks ago, I began putting oil on my inner thighs and they have not gotten worse. I also really believe that staying so hydrated has helped my skin tremendously and prevented stretch marks.
I want to end this post by saying that stretch marks can be hereditary. My mother only got them on her boobs when she was pregnant and that was the only time she ever had stretch marks. I am the same, I have never had stretch marks until I found the ones on my inner upper thigh. If you do all the things and still get stretch marks, wear them proudly!!! You are growing and just birthed a whole ass HUMAN BEING! Our bodies are freaking amazing and beautiful and we are all superheroes. When you look at them it's a reminder that you gave life to your beautiful child. So don't think of them negatively, but as a trophy to be proud of. I know that even though all of those things I just stated are true, it still doesn't take away from feeling self conscience about them sometimes, so I hope my recommendations help you and you feel your absolute BEST self, always!
